Paxful, a digital payment platform, has partnered up with Built With Bitcoin Foundation and Miami Mayor Francis Suarez in order to promote a new education initiative that is centered on Bitcoin (BTC), and financial literacy.
As part of an overall effort to increase financial literacy in underserved and minority communities in Miami, the initiative will provide free tickets to Bitcoin 2022 to local colleges and universities. The conference is scheduled for April and will be attended by up to 500 students as well as local residents. 6-9 at Miami Beach Convention Center.

The conference’s full agenda will be available to all attendees. It was revealed on March 15th. Notable speakers include Nayib Bukele, Salvadoran President, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor and Cynthia Lummis (United States Senator), entrepreneur Peter Thiel, and Cathie Wood from Ark Invest. The three-day event will also feature dozens of other Bitcoin entrepreneurs, influencers, and investors.
Venture Miami is spearheading the ticket giveaway. This portfolio team was created by Mayor Suarez in order to promote innovation and job creation in high-growth industries such as information technology.

Mayor Suarez made Bitcoin adoption a priority during his second term after learning about it from crypto influencers such as Tyler Winklevoss, Anthony Pompliano and others. Suarez, who receives part of his salary in BTC already, stated in December that he would also be investing a portion his 401(k payouts in the popular cryptocurrency.

Suarez also created a program that allows residents of Miami to earn a Bitcoin dividend. The MiamiCoin cryptocurrency is facilitating the program. It generates yields and helps to fund municipal projects. MiamiCoin generated excess yields of more than $21million for the city as of January 2022.
