Meta goes Brazil to trademark Bitcoin and crypto services

Meta, the largest social media platform in the world, has registered a trademark with Brazilian authorities to develop, design and provide hardware and software for various Bitcoin (BTC), and related services.

Meta was recently rebranded by Facebook to better align itself with the Metaverse developments, despite the regulatory hurdles it faced in its previous attempts to enter cryptospace.

Meta applied for a trademark registration at the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property to register crypto products and services that are related to trading, wallets, and exchanges platforms.

Meta filed the application for registration Jan. 25, and is currently awaiting opposition approval from INPI. According to the filing, Meta filed its trademark order on October 5, 2021 from Jamaica.
